  • The fact that they showed interest in a new offer is what made this equity drop in my view. Desperate move.

    • I have doubts Ulvr will revise their offer after today's price movement. Clearly investors are not happy

    • I don't know if this is another (manipulation) episode similar to the recent Samsung-Biogen takeover rumour which made biogen's tanked after Samsung came out to deny the rumour.

      • I dont understand the drop? Did the rejected offer show weakness in Unilever?

        • drop is simple, they are taking a risk with their hard earn cash and potentially might be paying more for GSK business which may not be worthing as much. I will not be surprise at all if drops further. bad decision to go for GSK as there are so many other business which would have fit a lot better with their current portfolio.

                  • Unilever [LON:ULVR], First Quarter Trading Statement, Friday 29 AprilSteve Clayton, Manager of the HL Select Funds“Unilever disappointed many with its last set of numbers and investors will be hoping to see a stronger trend in volumes when they report Q1 figures on Thurs 29 April. However with the pandemic accelerating in some of Unilever’s key emerging markets, like India and Brazil, this could be wishful thinking. The one thing investors should be able to rely upon is a dividend. The group raised the quarterly payout by 4% at the full year stage and stressed the importance the group places on delivering a growing dividend to shareholders, although of course, when it comes to dividends, there are no guarantees.”
