I’ve gone from one to the other over the years. Hargreaves Lansdown is a very efficient and clear platform, execute trades quickly. Anyone who thinks that saving £1 on a trade has a lot to learn. You miss that price, it costs three figures.

Stan Williams I agree HL is top class. Who cares if it’s £1 more per trade if they have a dedicated team to advise you - and strike the price you need.

The market is very anti gold at the moment it seems. Good companies with good figures but share price falls. Ive got a big chunk of investments in gold as a hedge but they are not doing the job. Everyone is obsessed with bitcoin

Gold shares totally out of vogue at the moment for some reason. Maybe people are wary of the gold price dropping. Barrick is rock solid though

He's a value investor, unfortunately out of youch with modern day stock market. But its not that, this is likely Buffet pulling his money out, using everyone elses money as liquidity.

The significant thiing is the hundreds of thousands of small investors that follow his moves and pile in after him whatever he buuys.  They think that they might as well ride some of his happy train on the roof if they cannot sit in first class and when enough passengers have joined him on the train he will step off at the last minute, and bid them "Bon voyage" from the platform for a safe journey!
