Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells iron and steel products for automobile, home appliance, petrochemical, machinery manufacturing, energy, transportation, and other industries in China and internationally. It operates in three segments: Iron and Steel Manufacturing, Processing and Distribution, and Others. It offers hot-rolled (HR) steel products, including HR wear resistant steel, clad-rolled flat steel, HR protection steel, and HR automotive steel sheet; CR automotive steel sheet, hot-dip galvanized steel for HVAC ductwork, tinplate and tin free steel, grain oriented electrical steel, prepainted steel sheet, and chromate-free anti-fingerprinting electrogalvanized steel sheet; heavy plate; pipes and tub; and bar and wire rod. It is also involved in the provision of asset management and technology development, transfer, and consulting service, as well as technical service in the field of metallurgical technology; construction machinery and metallurgical equipment maintenance; design, manufacture, installation, and repair of electromechanical equipment; import and export of goods and technology; manufacture of chemical product and raw material; gas production and supply; research, design, development, manufacturing, and integration of computer, automation, network communication system, and software and hardware product; steel trading; and research and development of laser tailor-welded plate product. It offers transportation, warehousing, and postal services. The company was incorporated in 2000 and is based in Shanghai, China.
