Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 4.60% or 0.220 points to trade at 5.000 at the close. Intergroup (LM:IFS) added 1.24% or 0.370 points to end at 30.300 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 1.02% or 0.27 points to 26.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 8.67% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.137 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 7.08% or 0.034 points to end at 0.446 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) shed 5.41% or 0.060 points to 1.050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 7 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.45% or 0.72 to $50.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.52 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1246.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3005, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7784.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 93.84.
