Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.51%

Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.51% to hit a new 52-week high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 2.78% or 0.500 points to trade at 18.500 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 1.70% or 0.008 points to end at 0.478 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 1.63% or 0.020 points to 1.250 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which lost 3.81% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.010 in late trade. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) declined 2.78% or 0.75 points to end at 26.25 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 1.96% or 0.005 points to 0.250.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.58% or 0.81 to $50.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.28% or 0.67 to hit $51.85 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.78% or 9.85 to trade at $1272.15 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3060, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7398.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 94.10.
