Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 8.92% or 0.340 points to trade at 4.150 at the close. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) added 1.94% or 0.210 points to end at 11.060 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.66% or 3.350 points to 204.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.45% or 0.530 points to trade at 14.840 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.40% or 0.800 points to end at 32.520 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 1.74% or 7.860 points to 444.920.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 64 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.33% or 4.35 to $1325.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.55 to hit $47.32 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.58 to trade at $49.63 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.47% to 18.3695, while EUR/MXN fell 0.35% to 20.7181.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.72.
