Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.55% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.88% or 0.420 points to trade at 15.000 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.61% or 0.900 points to end at 35.340 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.84% or 9.190 points to 508.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 3.42% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.820 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 1.30% or 0.620 points to end at 47.010 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 1.38% or 3.150 points to 225.790.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 69 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.50 to $1345.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.51% or 0.22 to hit $42.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.37 to trade at $45.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.63% to 18.4425, while EUR/MXN fell 0.35% to 20.4990.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.09.
