Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.05% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 2.12% or 1.020 points to trade at 49.040 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 1.59% or 0.670 points to end at 42.800 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 1.64% or 0.050 points to 3.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 2.08% or 0.43 points to trade at 20.23 in late trade. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) declined 2.05% or 0.230 points to end at 11.000 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) shed 1.55% or 4.110 points to 261.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 79 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 7.70 to $1342.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.78% or 1.21 to hit $44.70 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.45% or 1.13 to trade at $47.17 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 18.2380, while EUR/MXN rose 0.26% to 20.3556.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.71.
