Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which rose 3.33% or 3.70 points to trade at 114.65 at the close. Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 1.75% or 2.00 points to end at 116.30 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.73% or 0.840 points to 49.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 1.25% or 0.680 points to trade at 53.870 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.18% or 0.135 points to end at 11.300 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 1.09% or 0.47 points to 42.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 63 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.53% or 20.25 to $1346.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.16% or 0.07 to hit $44.37 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.66% or 0.79 to trade at $46.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.1241, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.87% at 94.91.
